The Allentown Jewish Community Center found a need to renovate its facilities to better serve the community and reflect its long-standing tradition as a sanctuary in Allentown.
An implementation plan was designed to keep the facilities operational while concurrently expanding and renovating them.
The Allentown JCC renovation of its 83,300 square feet existing building included 37,200 SF of additions.
New construction in Phase I improvements included a 25 yard, 8-lane competition pool and locker area, a new entrance lobby, expanded day-care facilities, a fitness center and a complete façade replacement.
The project included renovations of the administrative offices, adult meeting rooms, the teen lounge, an aerobic and spinning area, the children’s department and the gymnasium, as well improvements and general renovations throughout the site.
Phase II improvements included a new gymnasium, racquetball courts, therapy and teaching pools, an auxiliary auditorium, kitchen, and conversion of existing storage area to an additional fitness studio.
The project also included camp site improvements, consisting of renovations to the barn, pavilions, new tennis court, and a new multi-purpose building.
